My Approach

I believe that healing and growth comes from a place of understanding, compassion, and cultural awareness. My approach is rooted in trauma, informed care, meaning, I understand the impact of past experiences – both personal and collective – on mental health. I work with you to address the root causes of distress, whether they stem from trauma, societal pressures, or family dynamics, and help you develop healthier coping strategies and ways to build stronger relationships.

In addition to evidence-based therapy techniques, like internal family systems, and cognitive behavioural therapy, I emphasize the importance of cultural competence in therapy. I strive to create a space, where black families feel understood, hurt, and supported in ways that respect their unique cultural experiences and challenges.
